Playing catch-up and a Baby Milestone

Since I am horrible with this blog, I am going to try and play a quick catchup while there is something exciting to write about. Last night, November 11, Cooper slept all night long!! This was the first and very exciting night since he was born. Even though I had to go to bed at Midnight for it to happen, it actually happened. However, tonight is a totally different story. He has been asleep since 8:30 and looks like he's going to be out for a while.

HALLOWEEN

We were unable to enjoy Halloween last year due to a tenant issue so this was the first year Lydia actually got to go Trick-or-Treating. We started out by going to the Trunk-or-Treat at Grandma and Gramp Boardmans ward. Lydia saw all the people we use to go to church with but haven't seen in 6 months. She was scared of everyone and didn't even recognize her old "boyfriend" Matthew Harris. It was a very fun time, and profitable in the candy department. Not only were we able to go get candy, but Lydia also got to go to her very first "real" birthday party for her best friend Kerrianne. She had a great time and didn't want to come home.

We decided that it might be fun to dress her up as Pocahontis. It's not one of the costumes you ever see and man did she ever look cute!

Can you tell how much she loves her brother? she now wanted to hold him all the time and automatically says, "Cheese! Take a picture Mommy!!" as though she is so cute (ok so she its).

Here's Lydia enjoying a fun birthday party with friends.

REDMOND, OREGON

We had the priviledge of getting to go to my home for a whole week. My little brother came home from his mission in September so it was the first time the whole family was together in 4 years. We had a blast in Redmond. Cooper had his first airplane ride and did FANTASTIC!!! As soon as the plane unloaded and people saw us getting off, we heard them saying, "I didn't even know there was a baby on this flight!" It was a very proud moment for us.

Before setting off onto the vacation protion of our vacation, we were able to spend some quality time with my Grandparents. My Grandmother hasn't been doing well since Seth and I got married so every opportunity we have to be with them is amazing. The whole time they were over My Grandmother wouldn't let Cooper go. We had to reposition him many times but she just kept being persistant.

So off on our trip my Mother hired a professional photographer to take family photos. Because they were so expensive, we had Mom take a couple just for us. Unfortunately we were all looking off in different directions. So much for family unity. Lydia obviously was done smiling for the day when we got around to taking this one.

Along with a lot of fun activities, Lydia enjoyed spending time at the pool. Grandma and Grandpa bought her a new swimming suit since she grows like a weed everyday.

And of course, what would a trip be without fishing? Seth and I were able to spend the day by ourselves on the Metolious River. It was the most gorgeous water either one of us had ever seen. The blues and greens were so crystal clear you could see to the bottom. We only caught one fish that day but it was worth the time alone.

Another activity that we were all able to enjoy together was a miniature 18 hole golf course. It was one of the hardest that I had ever played. It was so difficult that it had par 5's on it! Poor Lydia had fun for the first 3 holes and then was in the stroller the other 15 holes. Not only did we golf, swim and fish, we rode bikes, played table tennis, played pool, air hockey, wally ball, and enjoyed everything.

This is a photo I had to include for anyone that knows my family well. This was Lydia's favorite sleeping position for the first 6 or so months of her life. Guess who is now doing the same thing. Doesn't Cooper look so cute? Since this is all he really does right now, his adventures are are very limited.

And what would a family trip be without Lydia and Cooper together? They make vacations fun and exciting (especially in the middle of the day when both need a nap, and I guess I will mooch a nap too).

Now that I think everything is pretty much up to date, I am going to make it a goal to write and add pictures atleast twice a month. I have to go back to work in a week and a half so my time is going to be even more limited then it is now. Along with everything, I am trying to finish my education and I am moving slower than ever. Well, until next time!

Big Sister, Little Brother

Look at how big this big sister is? She plays little mom all day long. Her favorite thing is to play with friends and going to storytime at the library.

She also enjoys all of her old baby toys (now that they are being used again and are usually unavailable)

And our sweet little man is starting to be awake more often. We are getting very close to the first smile! He especially loves to look at his Mom (actually, both of them). I am really not going to enjoy going back to work in 6 more weeks.

Announcing: Cooper Thomas Boardman (Long time coming)

Seth, Wendy and Lydia are pleased to announce the arrival of our little man, Cooper Thomas Boardman. He joined our family on August 30th at exactly 7 pm. After 7 weeks of bedrest he joined us perfectly. It was a hard task (especially since I am always on the go) that Lydia was gracious enough to help me with (by playing at friends houses everyday). He is a wonderful addition to the family. He doesn't like me to sleep too much and has us all on our toes. I just can't get over how cute he is. I know it's a long time coming but enjoy some recent pics. I will have to go back and post Lydia's 3rd Birthday on here at another time. We hope you enjoy these as much as we do....

He weighed in at a HUGE 5 lbs 11 oz (Lydia was 4 lbs 9 oz) and was 19 inches long. Look at all that black hair!

He was born with that scowl.

The proud and helpful big sister. She doesn't remember what life was like before the "cute little fella." Our happy little family.

It's that precious? He is almost the same size as his cute little bear.

Lydia and I enjoy all afternoon hanging with our little man. I hope that baby weight just falls right off....and soon!

Well, there is a little introduction to the wonderful world of Cooper. We hope you enjoyed the presentation and I hope that I can keep up with the time and keep everyone posted.

Lydia's Pretty Toes

This was a neat first. Lydia actually let me paint her toenails. She was very good and held really still. Now she goes around showing everyone her "pretty toes." Not to mention she "matches Mommy," which is fabulous. She's a diva already.

Was I able to hide my baby tummy well enough? Only 3 1/2 more months until "D-Day!" Lydia can't wait until "Cooper comes to play."

Memorial Day fishing adventure

What would Memorial Day be without fishing? in the Boardman house, it just wouldn't happen. So, the three of us ventured out to the South Platte for a little morning fishing. Lydia was enjoying every minute of it and couldn't wait for Seth to catch a fish for her. She was in luck, they caught exactly one fish! What a proud day for all.

What a cute girl! Can't you see her as American's Next Top Model (for Bass Pro Shops)? I mean look at how she wears that adoreable fishing vest. She just makes her Dad so proud to have a daughter!

Zoo fun

We have so much fun going to the Zoo. Grandma and Grandpa gave us a year pass for Christmas so we are trying to go atleast once a month. Each time, Lydia talks about the peacocks as her favorites. They like to come around to the different tables and visit while we are eating, of course. This time however, we were able to go into the petting area where she was able to make a friend with the goats. One goat even liked Seth so much that he tried eating his shorts! What a great time!

Updates

I think that I am just going to include all the pictures that I have right now at once. Here is the happy Easter egg dying and hunt we had at our house. As soon as we were done finding all the eggs, Lydia was off trying to hind them for us to find. What a helper!!

Now it's time to enjoy some nature!

Here are some great pictures from the last time we went fishing together. My camera works great and I am going to be taking as many pictures as I can with it.
